AIQA 100™ Opportunity Index
The first equity index that screens for how well companies govern and capitalize on artificial intelligence.
The Product
The AIQA 100 is a rules-based equity index selecting 100 U.S.-listed companies based on proprietary AIQ Scores and AI adoption opportunity assessment. It is designed for institutional investors, ETF providers, and asset managers seeking differentiated exposure to companies positioned to create shareholder value through superior AI governance and adoption.
THE OT300 PRECEDENT
This is not our first time building a proprietary quality rating into an investable index.
AIQA Advisory Board Chair and co-founder of Ocean Tomo, James E. Malackowski, CPA, CLP co-led launch of first intellectual property rating platform as well as related public equity indices, the Ocean Tomo 300® Patent Index (NYSE: OTPAT). The OT300 was priced and published by the American Stock Exchange beginning in 2006, and an ETF (Claymore/Ocean Tomo Patent ETF, AMEX: OTP) launched in December 2006 to track it.
The OT300 used Ocean Tomo’s patented PatentRatings® software (U.S. Patent No. 6,556,992) to select 300 companies across 50 style and size groups based on the quality of their patent portfolios relative to book value.
Over its first decade, the OT300 outperformed the S&P 500 by more than 1,600 basis points.
The AIQA 100 applies the same playbook — substituting AI governance quality for patent quality as the proprietary selection signal.
Methodology Overview
The index construction methodology combines multiple proprietary scoring components, including AI governance quality assessment, AI adoption opportunity analysis, and enterprise risk evaluation. The methodology is rules-based and transparent — designed to support institutional investment applications including exchange-traded funds.
What Makes This Different
Existing AI-themed ETFs — including products from Global X, Invesco, and others — select companies based on AI sector exposure: chipmakers, cloud providers, and large language model developers. The AIQA 100 takes a fundamentally different approach, selecting companies based on how well they govern and capitalize on AI across any industry. A well-governed pharmaceutical company or financial services firm may rank higher than a poorly governed AI chip designer.
