Certification Review

A two-week review of the AI in one product against all 55 data points, through documents, interviews and live demonstrations.

2

Pass or Fail

Every data point must be evidenced. There is no partial seal. A product that falls short may resubmit within 30 days, when only the open data points are reviewed again.

3

Mark and Registry Entry

A certified product may carry the AIQA Certified Product mark, with a serial that resolves to its public AIQA Registry entry, for one year from issuance.

4

Maturity: Silver and Gold

Silver denotes controls that are also Monitored (+2). Gold denotes controls that are also Responsive (+3). Either medal appears on the mark.

The AIQ™ Governance Standard Rubric

Each data point is one specific, checkable governance control. All apply to every product, and one absent data point blocks the seal.

Evidenced Is the Pass Mark

Every data point passes or fails, and all 55 must be Evidenced for the seal. Monitored and Responsive add maturity points on top.

Absent

Fails

No basis to show the control exists. One absent data point blocks the seal.

Evidenced

Pass mark

Shown working, through a record AIQA Global holds or a live demonstration. A description earns nothing. The seal minimum.

Monitored

+2

The company would know if the control stopped working: a check on the control itself, with a record that it runs. Product telemetry alone does not count.

Responsive

+3

When the control fails, a defined response exists and has been exercised. Earned with or without Monitored.

Once certified, a product can earn a Silver medal on its mark by showing that its controls are also Monitored, or a Gold medal by showing that they are also Responsive. Medal thresholds are published after methodology sign-off.

One Seal, Two Medals

Products and services carry the same seal. Silver denotes controls that are also Monitored; Gold denotes controls that are also Responsive. A medal changes only the color of the outer ring.

A product under review may be described as “under review for AIQA Certified Product”. It may not show the mark or be described as certified until a certification decision is issued.

A decision of not certified means one or more controls could not be shown to work in the review window. It is not a finding that the product is unsafe, non-compliant or poorly made, and it is not published.

AIQA Certified Product attests to the governance of the AI in the product named: that each control in the AIQ™ Governance Standard is present and shown to work, verified by an independent party under the Chicago Principles for Independent AI Assurance. It does not attest to the safety, efficacy, performance, security or legal compliance of the product, and it is not a guarantee against loss. The AIQA Registry entry, not any letter, is the authoritative record of status. AIQA Certified Product is a certification designation of AIQA Global, LLC; use of the mark is subject to clearance.
